i really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.
i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.
i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.
All the advice you have been given here is excellent, it is from people who have been, or are in your position. I am in exactly the same position having really found out about the organisation this last couple of years. I am in my 60's, brought up in it and just cannot walk as yet.
However you say you are a young single man, so do not waste your life as so many of us older ones have, you will end up very bitter. Fade at your own pace but do not forget the goal is to be OUT!
All the very best from

i know that wtb&ts was successful in sutting down the "quotes" website ... i am curious, have they made legal threats or used any strong-arm tactics against other sites like this one or freeminds or jwfacts ?.
today is st george's day the patron saint to england.

Well thank you one and all. I haven't rescued a maiden for a long time, I think they must be in short supply, and most of the dragons I have come across seem quite decent when you get to know them.
I will celebrate by watching Stan Freeberg's version of George & the Dragon on YouTube.

Christians do well to weigh such indications that God esteems their reproductive ability. Each couple must determine if and when they will employ appropriate methods of family planning. Granted, their decision would be particularly telling if there were confirmed medical assurances that mother or child faced grave medical risks, even a probability of death, with a future pregnancy. Some in that situation have reluctantly submitted to a sterilization procedure as described earlier to make sure that no pregnancy would threaten the life of the mother (who may already have other children) or that of a child who might later be born with a life-threatening health problem.
But Christians who are not facing such an unusual and distinct risk would certainly want to use ‘soundness of mind’ and shape their thinking and deeds by God’s esteem for reproductive potential. (1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:8; 2:2, 5-8) This would reflect mature sensitivity to Scriptural indications. Yet, what if it became publicly known that a Christian blithely disregarded God’s evaluations? Would not others doubt whether he (or, she) was a good example, having a reputation of making decisions in harmony with the Bible? Such a disturbing blemish on one’s reputation could, of course, affect a minister’s being qualified for special privileges of service, though that might not be so if one had in ignorance had this procedure performed.—1 Timothy 3:7.
This is just the final part of the answer but pretty well sums up the attitude.

the other day i casually mentioned to my wife how weird the new generation teaching sounds.
she at first had no idea what i'm talking about.
she read the article, yet she noticed no doctrine change (sidenote: way to go gb!
Elders do not have the time or inclination to discuss spiritual matters. There are far more more important items on the agenda:

Why don't we have a new PA system?
Which brother do we buy the PA system from?
when i was in the org.
you heard occasional talk about apostates.
i would think now with so many x-jw's and people who have left or fading, that there is probably alot of talk about this subject now.
Apostates and apostacy is never mentioned in my congregation. The internet is only mentioned in conection with pornography. Most cannot understand why the society even has a web site. Then again, I am mid 60's and one of the younger ones.

ok i listening in for the meetings and will probably go to the special talk sunday, they are having it this week because of the special assembly day last weekend.. i am doing this for a very good reason but it is driving me crazy listening to this stuff.
i need to vent of else i feel i will go crazy.
it is so stupid.. ok so last night was the question box and it was about recording the public talks.
We have this item tonight. The KM says there is no objection to recording for personal use or family members. The elders can also arrange for meeting recordings for the elderly or infirm, which our congregation does. What they do not want is circulating recordings and posting them on the internet for general access.
I think the reasons for that have been explained here, change of thought next week, CO/DO saying things they ought not etc.
